Pacific Pearl is an Oyster Lightwave 48.  Designed for fast, comfortable and safe sailing, she is an ideal cruising boat for living aboard and seeing the world.  Some Lightwave 48s are campaigned hard on the racing and charter circuit (most famously Scarlet Oyster), others, including Pacific Pearl, have done circumnavigations and been lived abroad for long periods of time.  For us, she's a perfect combination of comfort and seaworthiness, has great pedigree when it comes to getting people safely around the world, and being an older boat, comes with a lot of relevant kit and a (relatively!) affordable price.
